Week 9 The Rebellion by Shane F

One day I was marching through the castle getting ready for the attack by the rebels . There were new weapons called muskets and  new cannons.  Warfare was forever changed after these inventions .

The rebels dug huge trenches outside the castle . They fired a  huge line of bullets. As the smoke cleared,  the rebels fired their cannons and a huge chunk of the wall collapsed .

I was on a guard tower firing my musket down at the rebels trench . We had a line of cavalry  dashing out to take the rebels. As the cavalry charged so to did our infantry . The infantry fired a line  of bullets at the rebels trench where they became bamboozled and started to retreat.

It was a great battle.

  1. Like Mr. Russell says, there’s nothing ‘great’ about war, but there’s lots which is ‘great’ about your story. I think you’ve used great terminology throughout detailing all the weapons and words associated with war. Looks like you’ve done ‘great’ research for this story. Well done.

  2. What a super story, Shane! I always smile when someone says it was a “great” battle, like the awful famine of the 1840s is always referred to as the “great” famine. Nothing great about it! I guess the winners of any battle would say it was great! Well done and also well done for writing your story during your mid term break. Keep up the super work!

  3. Hi Shane
That was a really great story
I liked the way you wrote at the end because it was really funny how you liked the battle very much
I was wondering why did the rebels attack you and please comment back on my story with the answer
It reminded me of the 1916 rising of how the war took off
    Keep up the good stories

  4. Great writing Shane and I have to compliment you on taking the time to write your 100 WC while you are on your mid term break from school. I love your line “warfare was forever changed after these inventions” as you really hit the nail on the head. You must be familiar with war stories as you describe what was happening in great detail. I’m glad it all worked out in the end and I take it that you won the battle. Well done.

I had to laugh at your last line! Your side obviously won the battle!
    Keep up the great work.
